Anonymous asked: My pulling is at my eyebrows, but I mess with my hairline a little. The thing is, at my hairline, it's not so much pulling as it is picking. My spots along the hairline are bald because I've dug the skin out so deep with my nails that I think I've dug up a layer below the roots. Sometimes I come down with a bloody scab with several roots contained in it. I cut my nails and try to stop, but I can't. It's been five or six years. Is the picking a common thing? What should I do?

Okay, so you’re picking at skin?  Yeah that’s normal.  But it’s not tirch, I believe that it’s dermatillomania, a skin picking/pulling disorder.   Many people with trich have it as well.  As for what you should do,  I really don’t know.  Apart from hats, taped/bandaged fingers, fake nails.  If any other people know some tips that would be greatly appreciated!  In the meantime, I hope your trich and derm gets better!!
